Aaron Slavin is a creative producer who specializes in grand-scale festivals and site-specific multi-media works with an art/science focus that impact urban civic spaces. Aaron is currently Producer and Co-Artistic Director of AxS Festival, a celebration of the intersection of art and science produced by the Pasadena Arts Council, in collaboration with partners including Caltech, NASA/JPL, Descanso Gardens, The Art Center College of Design, The Huntington Library, The Armory Center for the Arts and other key players in “The City of Art and Science.”
Prior to AxS Aaron was Executive VP of Production and Business Development at Modern Cartoons, a Venice, CA based studio that pioneered real-time motion capture technologies and computer animation for television, with oversight of the studio’s flagship preschool series Jay Jay the Jet Plane (PBS Kids), and projects for clients including SONY, EIDOS, UBISOFT, Hearst/Cisneros, USA/SciFi Channel, Columbia Tri-Star Television, and the HBO, FOX, CBS, NBC and G4 networks.
Before Modern Aaron co-founded and was lead producer for Community Arts Resources (CARS), a company specializing in community-based arts in civic spaces and whose clients have included all of the major civic and cultural institutions in Los Angeles. CARS is currently busy transforming Los Angeles through its landmark CicLAvia project.
